We are in need of a bigger vehicle

Posted on Posted in Events

Nehemiah Safe house is growing!

So as we grow so does the size of our family. We are needing to get a bigger vehicle for transportation purposes.

The majority of our time is spent on the road. Either at courts, social departments, hospitals, clinics, fetching and the dropping of children at schools. As well as outings, events and the list goes on. At the moment we have a ford bantam bakkie which takes care of the collecting, and dropping off of food and other items thankfully. However, the safety for the children is of great concern to us. Up until now we have been blessed with the use of Colleens (Amy’s mom) car. She has been kind enough to assist us so that we can safely transport the children around – as you can see in the photo below. We are very appreciative but now she needs her vehicle back.

As we grow with our 2 year goal in mind to become a ‘self sustainable home’ we at the moment would need assistance from the community, businesses,  family and friends to help us achieve purchasing a vehicle. Nehemiah Safe home would be grateful for your input and assistance.

We are in a position to cover the running costs of the vehicle.  However, we just fall short of entirely doing it on our own income.

We are open to ideas with community involvement, company branding and/or sponsorship to assist us in this great need. By combating the transport issue we would be able to grow and those directly involved would be making this a possibility in assisting children in need.

We have had 2x families come forward and offer R1000.00 a month for 24 months. If we could find 3x other families to come forward we would be in a position to get a vehicle. Then after the initial 24 months we would find new families to come on board for a 24 month period and so forth, making this an affordable option to those who are in a position to assist. This could be a possible solution. We would then cover the running costs of the vehicle (petrol, services, insurance etc) to make it work and functional. -says Amy Vos founder of Nehemiah Safe House

Ford N1 City has been kind enough to work with us in purchasing a vehicle. They are prepared to give us discounted rate and assist us with in-house financing.

We really value your support and input with this regard in making our home a safer and more productive home.
